FAQ

What you'll find here: answers to our most-commonly asked questions.
What you won't find: much else, it's really all about the FAQs.

Who is this stuff for?

It’s for everyone. You, them, her, him, us – everyone. All skin types, all hair types, all people (except for kids under 3). These products are essentials. Made for people who get that simple is better. Who don’t want to be sold more and more of what they don’t need. Sound like you?

What's with your formulas?

The thing about our formulas is that they damn well work. We’ve tested them so we know. They are short. There’s no list of 100 chemicals and no hyped-up trendy ingredients. They are natural. There’s no green-washing, no over-complication or bogus science – it’s the best ingredients we can find, put together in the best way possible. Strictly no BS. And if one day we find a way to improve, we’ll make a change and we’ll tell you about it.

What's natural about this stuff?

Almost everything. 95-99.9% natural ingredients in every product. And for the other 0.1-5% we make sure it’s safe. That’s the thing about these products, they’re made to make you feel good. So we make sure there’s nothing bad in them. Oh, and for the regulation nerds out there – us included – everything is calculated as per ISO16128 standard.

Do they really work?

Yeah, they do, and we know they do, beyond a doubt. We’ve tested every single product. We tested them in labs, we tested them on consumers, and it’s all done independently so you can trust the outcome. We don’t believe in all that phony marketing BS. We don’t work miracles, we just use really great active ingredients in really effective quantities and that’s why you can trust them to work.

What about "nasties"?

No thanks. We don’t believe in unfriendly substances, so you won’t find them in these products. Only we can’t legally add Free From labels to our packaging, and nor would we want to. So instead, here’s a list of what won’t be on your skin: petrochemical ingredients (mineral waxes, pastes, oils)/ PEGs and PPGs / alkylamines / synthetic preservatives non-approved by Cosmos/ phthalates/ SLS, SLES and ALS/ silicones / synthetic fillers and colorants. Like we said: no thanks.

Talk to me - is this stuff hypoallergenic?

So, here’s the deal: we can’t legally say that something’s hypoallergenic unless it contains zero allergens or allergen precursors. And we wanted to design formulas that worked first. Every product is recommended, tested and okayed for sensitive skin, and for eye safety – we made damn sure of that. So use them if you like. Or don’t if you don’t.

Is everything pregnancy-safe?

Every product is designed to be safe for pregnant and nursing people to use. But always follow the advice from your doctor and check with them if you’re unsure or have specific concerns. We leave the medical stuff up to them.

Can I use this if I'm vegan?

Yep, all our products are vegan. No honey, no beeswax, no lanolin, no problem.

Do you ever test on animals?

No. Never. And actually, in the EU it’s illegal to test on animals. Legally you’re not even able to say ‘Not tested on animals’. Not that we would test that way anyway. Who wants to hurt those little critters?

Where's it all made?

We’re made in the south of France. It’s the place that inspires us, it’s where we could produce the best products, and we’re so pleased with it that you’ll find it on every package.

Sustainability - what are you doing about it?

As much as we damn well can. Look, we say it’s about taking responsibility, so here’s what we’re doing, transparently laid out for you to see: our raw materials are genuinely and thoroughly thought through. Our factories are officially GMP / ISO 22716 norm compliant, CSR approach & EcoVadis Silver Recognition Level if you want to check it out. Every ingredient is traceable and sourced for quality, coming from local suppliers. And our packaging? Infinitely recyclable. You won’t find us in landfills. Same goes for our shipping packs – all made from one material and easy to recycle.

What do they smell like - do you use perfume?

There’s no scent in anything you put on your face, and natural scent in our body and hair products. It’s safer and just the way we do things.

Do your products have an expiry date?

All beauty products do. Ours have a shelf life of three years, unopened. Once open, they should be used within 12 months (if you need a reminder, look for the number in the little open pot symbol on the packaging). All our products are made in small, trackable batches, so if you want to find out whether a product is still in date, email us the unique batch number and we’ll tell you exactly when it was made.

What's the shelf life on everything?

Unopened they’ll keep for three years. Most products last for 12 months once open, but look for a little symbol of a jar with a number on it to be sure. That’s how many months it’s good for.
Here’s how to store your products to keep them lasting as long as possible: store at room temperature. Protect from light and moisture. Avoid freezing.

How can I pay?

Pretty much however you like. We accept all major credit cards as well as PayPal, Apple Pay and Google Pay. Please note: very occasionally we might have to cancel an order due to processing or payment issues. If that happens, we’ll always get in touch to let you know and take you through the next steps.

What currency are your prices in?

They’re all displayed in Euros. Look out for the € symbol. If you’re paying in a different currency, your order will be charged at the current exchange rate. There’s no extra cost for this, but it does mean your prices might change slightly from order to order.

When will I be charged for my order?

When you place your order we’ll charge you, process it, pack everything up and get it out to you in a jiffy.

Where do you ship to, and how long does it take?

We ship everywhere in the EU, and all orders are shipped within 1-3 business days. Unless we let you know otherwise, of course. From there, how long things take to get to you depends a bit on where you are. On average we recommend allowing 1-3 business days from when you get your dispatch email.

Why don't you offer next-day delivery?

The short answer: express shipping is bad for the environment.

The longer answer: shipping and logistics processes are carbon-intensive. When businesses speed those processes up, something has to give – in this case, that means fewer chances to consolidate shipments. So fewer products sent out in more trucks, spewing out higher greenhouse gas emissions. All to get a product tomorrow instead of two days from now.

The more time you give us, the more efficient we can be. We combine deliveries with other orders being delivered close by, so the overall number of journeys is as low as possible. It’s pretty clear that the climate would benefit if everything slowed down just a little.

Can I track my order?

Sure you can. You can see the status of your order at any time by logging in to your account. We’ll also send a tracking number and the name of your courier direct to your inbox, so you can follow your parcel as it travels to you. Pretty neat, huh?

If there’s any issue tracking the package on your courier’s website, just let us know. Log in.

What if I miss delivery?

Once you have your tracking number, be sure to keep an eye out for deliveries. Our different couriers have different policies for missed deliveries, so you can check on their websites for more information.
The important thing? Always check your delivery address before you order. Once the order’s in we’re not able to make any amends, and we all know there’s nothing more annoying than seeing your products delivered to somebody else.

What's the deal with Import, Duty, VAT and Customs Fees?

If you live in the EU, we take care of it. You’ll have nothing extra to pay.

What if my product arrives damaged or incorrect?

Look, we’d love to live in a perfect world, but we know sometimes things go wrong.
If you receive the wrong item: contact us with your order number, a photo of the incorrect item and the name of the item you ordered. We’ll look into it for you.

If your products are damaged on arrival: we ask you to take a second. Is the product inside the packaging damaged, or is the item unusable? If so, please get in touch and let us know, including your order number, a photo of the damaged item and the name of the item you ordered.

If not, well, we encourage you to just think. We make our packaging aluminium because it’s the most recyclable material out there. But it can dent and its smooth surface can scratch. We believe that it’s what’s inside that counts. So rather than create waste from a product we can’t resell, and create more carbon emissions on another delivery, can the product still be used? It’s not totally radical thinking, but repeated many times over, it can make a huge difference overall.

How do I return stuff?

Returns are completely free for all or part of your order, so long as it’s returned within 14 days of arriving with you and it’s unopened and unused.

We’ve made the whole thing really easy:

1. Request your return. Got an account? Log in, head to the Orders tab and hit Refund next to your order, then follow the steps and hit Submit. We’ll do the rest. Not got an account? Fill out the Contact form with your details and tell us why you’re returning stuff (if you like). It helps us to understand any issues and do better in future if we can.

2. Check your email. Once we’ve accepted your request we’ll send you a prepaid return label. Use a different courier service if you like, but you’ll need to pay for that yourself.

3. Pack and drop off. Pack up the products you want to return in their original packaging or a well-padded box. Add the returns label and drop off with the courier.

4. Hang tight. Once your request is accepted and processed we’ll send you an email to confirm. Have patience – it can take 3-5 days for the payment to appear in your account.

5. Get in touch. If we’ve not been in touch to confirm your refund after 10 days, drop us an email at hello@asanonbeliever.com and we’ll check it out.
